A DAD IS A DAD
Katherine Nelson Davis

A Dad is a Dad when greeting his children
After his long day is done.
A dad is a Dad when he's found out-of-doors
Playing ball with his little league son.

When he takes his small daughter on piggyback rides
And tosses her high in the air,
When his children crawl up in his welcoming lap
As he sits in his favorite chair.

A Dad is a Dad when he spends the weekends
Taking his children on hikes,
When he's helping with homework or mending toys
Or teaching them how to ride bikes.

A Dad is a Dad who cares just as much
After his children are grown--
In every child's heart is tyhat one special place
That is meant just for Dad alone!
