Spelling Ideas

1. Use each word in a complete sentence of seven or more words... (a.) Declarative  (b.) Interrogative  (c.) Exclamatory  (d.) Imperative  (e.) Direct Quotation
 
2. Draw pictures of your words.
 
3. Write your words in colors. Try to match the color to your "feeling" about the word.
 
4. Write your words in block letters, or calligraphy, or any other style of lettering.
 
5. Make a Word Search, using quadrille paper.
 
6. Cut out 10 pictures from magazines, paste on paper. Write sentences using your Spelling words to go with the pictures.
 
7. Write the dictionary/glossary definitions of your words, including pronunciation and part of speech.
 
8. Using the letters in your words, write as many other words as possible.
 
9. Alphabetize your words.
 
10. Write your words in backwards cursive handwriting.
 
11. Write SYNONYMS, ANTONYMS, or HOMONYMS for your words.
 
12. Write your words UPSIDE DOWN or at different ANGLES on your paper.
 
13. Do Letters B, C, and D in your Speller.
 
14. Make a fantastic restaurant menu.
 
15. Make a Spelling Crossword puzzle, using a grid from and clues.
 
16. Use all your words in one "looooong" sentence.
 
17. Take a trial test--person giving the test should sign your paper.
 
18. Invent "strange, unique, weird" ice cream flavors using your Spelling words (Follow Fudge Flipple, Blueberry Blade Buckle, Coconut Committee Cream, etc.)
 
19. Make a design, to fit the season or your favorite picture.
